When Was The Last Time You Did Something Silly? ~ Joe Longo

Photo by Kate Brenton - Love Park, Philadelphia

I’m a photog and yoga instructor, and though I love interacting with people, words are not always my forte.

You know, using proper grammar and punctuation can be so burdensome. I do have a blog, but I prefer using my images to speak for me. Ah yes, a picture is worth…

But I just had to share this thought with ya.

I finished teaching my morning class at Sundari Yoga Studio and started out on my beautiful, hour commute back home. Not too long into the drive, one of my favorite tunes begin to play—You Fckin’ Did It by Jason Mraz. And just like any other time I hear this song, I immediately began singing and dancing. Yea, that’s right. I was getting my groove on, but good.

I then had a quick moment of humility. What if anyone sees me? They’re going to think I’m crazy!

You know what? I didn’t care.

Why? Because I was having fun singing at the top of my lungs and dancing my ass off. It felt amazing. I felt free. Why? Because I was being silly. I was acting without a care in the world and I didn’t care who was looking or what they thought. I was acting like a child, a free spirit, and it felt awesome!

So, when was the last time you did something silly? When was the last time you went out with a friend and acted like kids? I challenge you to be silly, let go and just have fun. You’ll be surprised by the joy it will bring into your world. People will start to think you’re crazy for being happy.

So, go on be silly, be crazy and most of all be happy.

In the words of Yogi Bhajan “Make yourself so happy that when other people look at you they become happy too”

Check out all the silly peeps below, and have a kick ass time being silly.
