Raise Your Arms & Scream.

This is the 12th of 108 tips to Livin’ the Moment. Let’s take back our lives one beautiful, funny and delicious moment at a time.

#12 of 108: Raise Your Arms and Scream!

The Olympics start tonight.

Peak emotions will be on display for the “quadrennial fortnight.”

Absolute ecstasy, miserable agony, indomitable determination!

There’s something special about an event—the only event—that brings every nation in the world together.

I have been a huge Olympic fan since the Games came to my hometown, L.A., in 1984 (see pic).

What I love most about the Olympics is summed up by Jon Krakauer:

“I read somewhere…how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong…to measure yourself at least once.”

I urge you over the coming two weeks…

…while watching the agony and ecstasy of the London Games…

…to identify an accomplishment you know needs to happen once in your journey.

This is something that will elicit absolute ecstasy, miserable agony, peak emotions that must be felt to really be alive.

I know what it is for me and it’s going to be really difficult, especially when around friends.

So I invite you to join me (you can never be too corny during the Olympics), raise your arms above your head, and say out loud what this accomplishment will be.

Triumphant body language breeds success.

And tonight, when the Queen of England declares open the Games of the 30th Olympiad, it will be so much more fun if that initiates the quest, not just for the world’s greatest athletes, but for the part of you who is faster than fear, wiser than worry, deeper than doubt.

Happy Olympics!
