Exploring the Feminine: Poisonous plants, Secrets, Poetry & Bellydance. {Video}

It knows, to be sure it knows…

Ever had a secret? The kind that burns in your belly. You know it’s wrong, but it feels so good.

Ripe with saphotoxins, these plants should not be eaten.

Common symptoms are difficulty swallowing and speaking,

Lips swelling red

palms go wet

delirium

and a hallucinogenic death

Naomi Joy Gallagher, a yoga teacher and bellydancer with the Vancouver troupe Luciterra, and Julie (JC) Peters, yoga teacher, writer and studio owner (eastsideyoga.ca) from Vancouver BC, collaborated for the Interplay Dance festival this year, and here is what they created:

Yup, Elephant Ears are a real plant: common household plant that should definitely not be eaten. They really are called saphotoxins.
