Bring Yoga Recess Day to Your School.
The countdown is on. Yoga Recess Day is coming.
As a school teacher and youth yoga specialist I’m thrilled with the effort and focus behind this annual event. With recent tragedies in mind, bringing the healing and health benefits of yoga to children is more important than ever.
Join thousands of school teachers, parents and passionate yogis and pledge to bring mind body exercises, breathing and stretching into classrooms everywhere.
On January 25, 2013, yoga comes to schools across America. Yoga Recess Day, an initiative of the Yoga Health Foundation (the ones who bring you Yoga Month every September), is:
a national campaign and platform to bring yoga-based health education into classrooms. By providing free online resources like instructional videos and lesson plans, we make it easy for school teachers to integrate yoga into their teaching schedule and allow children to benefit from mind body, breathing and stretching exercises.
I had the opportunity to chat with the organizers and sponsors of this event during this interview.
