Hunting for Paradise. {Video}

I can officially say that I have one of the absolute best jobs in the world.

In short, my assignment is to document beautiful corners of the planet for a new television show called Paradise Hunter. Then, at the end of shooting 12 episodes (this is where you’ll want to smack me), I get to pick a place where my boss buys me a house so I can live forever in paradise!

It’s a tough job I know, but someone has to do it.

Truth is, paradise for one person might not be paradise for another. Some like white sand beaches and some like white powder skiing; some like secluded beaches and some like bustling cities—it’s really is hard to define paradise.

I looked up paradise at Dictionary.com and this is what they say:

‘a place or state of bliss, felicity, or delight’

According to that definition, anywhere could be paradise ,as long as you’re mentally happy—and happiness to me really is all mental. Sure, it’s nice to sit on a beach and listen to waves crashing on a beach while beautiful women feed you grapes, but that doesn’t guarantee happiness. It’s just a fleeting moment of bliss, sure to fade away the second you return home and get stuck in traffic.

I’ve actually already found paradise and I didn’t have to go far to find it.

I’m typing this article from my bedroom, the last rays of the winter sun are filling my room with a golden light and I can see the rolling foothills out back window. You guessed it: I live in Boulder Colorado.

Boulder is a total paradise and has been named many times as one of the top places to live and we proudly boast the second hottest guys in the U.S. I’ve lived here for most of my life and I love it. I love the people, the nature, the food, the bike paths and especially my mom.

This doesn’t mean that I won’t have the time of my life searching for another paradise though…who says there can be only one?

Here are some behind the scenes of filming the new Paradise Hunter series. Stay tuned—it’s gonna be a fun ride and I promise to show the best of every location. It’ll be like you’re right there with me, except you don’t get sun burnt!
