So you want to know how to take charge of your life and how to maintain that feeling of passion and desire in everything you do?

Well first let me tell you that you’re not alone. Many of my coaching clients get all worked up because they think they’ve lost their motivation and drive for good. The three simple steps below have changed my life as well as the lives of hundreds of people who have made these teachings their daily practice. See how they work for you and create a feeling of passion in everything you do!

Don’t Get Motivated!

Sounds like an oxymoron, huh? This is one of my favorite rules to follow and it has personally gotten me to where I am today. The reason I am so passionate about this rule is because we all go through the same emotional roller coasters. One day we are on a constant high of emotions, we think we are invincible and unstoppable. Then, all of the sudden we wake up the next morning and  realize that something in our plan has gone sour, somebody rejected our offer or criticized our way of doing things. We now are experiencing the lowest point of the roller coaster.

So how do we get ourselves back up and full of excitement in order to conquer the world again? We Don’t!

Don’t try to get motivated before going out there and making a difference. Don’t wait for your next “high” in order to achieve your goal. Simply take action regardless of how you feel and watch what happens. Don’t wait for the excitement to arrive in order to move onto your next goal.

The high we get from being motivated only comes after we’ve already started the hard work and we’ve built up momentum. Momentum comes after the initial push. The first push is always the hardest. Think of Thomas the Train who constantly repeated to himself, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” He kept pushing and pushing, and yes, it was difficult at first, but once he built up the momentum he needed, the rest of his journey was a smooth ride.

Don’t Get to Give, Give to Get!

When I began changing my entire mental setup I started to realize that nature has a funky way of manifesting itself. I began to ask myself, not what can I get, but what can I give. For those of you out there who find it difficult to give freely without expecting anything in return, begin to work on that mindset. Start small and I promise you the return will be tremendous.

Start giving what you can at every opportunity you have. When somebody asks you for a favor begin to see it as an opportunity to gain tremendous karma points and do what people ask of you selflessly and willingly. Giving can come in any size, shape and color. You can give someone a compliment, or help someone in need of help, and if you can donate time or money to an organization you believe in, then why not!?

When you begin to give unconditionally, you begin to notice miracles happen left and right. Whether it be receiving parking spots in areas that would normally be difficult to find, or meeting the love of your life, these miracles add up and they only occur when you begin to give, give, give!

Be Passionate From Within!

I spent years of my college life searching for that one thing that I wanted to do for the rest of my life, for that one thing I was most passionate about. When I graduated and still realized that I hadn’t found the one thing I’m most passionate about, I began to realize something wasn’t right. I took a couple weeks of my life, before making any major moves or decisions, to sit with myself in intense meditation and yoga practice and found out many things about myself. I began to find immense passion inside myself.

I realized that the secret to finding passion is to bring passion into everything that you do. When you find passion inside rather than outside yourself everything you do seems to become an act of passion.

If you’re in need of a change in routine because the monotony of everyday life is beginning to get to you, start with these three simple practices and watch the everyday miracles in your life begin to unfold effortlessly and naturally.
