another dance
of gaudy feathers and lackluster: wing on a wire
a softness pinned
like that space beneath
breast, or scrotum,
that space between the toes that
we neglect.
a wanting
like construction, drowning out
the earth’s cadence, turning the soft space
to debris.
fixed flesh and dreams turned phantom
from all that trying.
forever the poetry of it:
how delicate we are,
& the texture of wordless things.
