Make Hot, Sweet, Love in Your Kitchen. ~ Rebecca Schwarz

“It’s so beautifully arranged on the plate – you know someone’s fingers have been all over it.” ~ Julia Child

On Valentine’s Day, who doesn’t want fingers all over them? On the body or in our food, fingers are one of the marvelous ways love or desire is communicated.

Love can be made in the kitchen any day of the year, Valentine’s Day is an added bonus! These foods can be used to stimulate some fun and enjoyment in your love life.

1. Oysters

This had to make the list, it’s not a myth. The high zinc content of oysters boosts the libido. Hence, the reason this is often an appetizer, the build up and the teasing only adds to the overall experience.

2. Chocolate

No big surprise. This glorious substance releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that relays pleasure signals in the brain. Pleasure is key! Bring on the chocolate.

3. Figs

The Georgia O’ Keeffe of fruit. Delicate, squishy, moist, need I write more?

4. Bananas

Phallic symbols in the kitchen offer the power of suggestion, never a bad tactic. Yet, bananas also provide potassium and vitamin B, both crucial for the sex hormones and muscle strength. More strength equals a more intense muscular contractions, i.e. orgasms. Eat your nanners!

5. Garlic

Disclaimer: For this to work, all parties involved (why limit this to two) must partake. Garlic gets the blood pumping, a sign of life and vitality. Get the blood pumping, and things will start cooking in your kitchen!

6. Hot Chilis

Along the lines of blood pumping, these feisty little buggers will add a glow to your partner’s face. Chilis contain capsaicin, a chemical that aids blood circulation and stimulates nerve endings. Stimulation works in the kitchen and all rooms for that matter!

7. Asparagus and Avocado

Hey guys, remember this one! The Vitamin E in both of these foods aids in a woman’s lubrication and clitoral swelling. Yes, clitoral swelling.

8. Red wine

A little alcohol never hindered any sexual situation. The antioxidants help blood flow and circulation. See Garlic.

9. Salmon, walnuts, flax seeds, and pumpkin seeds

All of these offer omega-3s which help keep all the sex hormones up and running at optimal levels.

10. Imagination

There are too many options in a kitchen to pass up! Spatulas, counter tops and kitchen tables, butter and oils all contribute to an amazing love fest in the kitchen.

Bon appétit!

Rebecca Schwarz is in a state of constant awareness of just how amazingly glorious this existence can be on a small island in the middle of the Pacific. Monday mornings, early morning runs, channel crossings, belly laughter and her nieces are some of her favorite things. Sweet potatoes, kale and beets make her heart happy. She is contemplating filling her plate too full with the endless amounts of things to do in this life. If you want to try your luck put a note in a bottle and hope that it reaches her or email her at [email protected].
