“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

~ Martin Luther King Jr.

When a 5-year-old girl set up a “Pink Lemonade for Peace” stand directly across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church Headquarters in Kansas, the entire community came out to show their support.

Five-year-old Jayden Sink purposefully set up business outside of The Equality House Friday afternoon after her parents explained the cultural significance of the building and the longstanding harassment by the hate-mongering WBC  members.

The rainbow-colored house located directly across the street from the WBC is intended to serve as a ‘symbol of equality, peace, and positive change’ and serves as a resource center for all of the Planting Peace Organization’s LGBT equality and anti-bullying initiatives.

According to young Jayden, it was her father Jon Sink, founder of the philanthropic arts group FRESHCASSETTE – Creative Compassion, who compelled her to raise money for the Planting Peace Organization.

Just since Friday, Jayden has raised over $6,000 for the charity—much to the dismay of the WBC members, who had this to say via their Twitter feed:

WBC

Once again, WBC could not be reached for comment.

Westboro Baptist's headquarters are in Topeka, Kansas, not Kansas City. We do NOT want them here in KC! Thanks!

Ew, what a hateful, backwards, so-called "church".

Hate only begets hate, so maybe people will eventually stop being jerks one of these days and realize change must happen. I wish I could buy some of her lemonade though!

Just made a donation to Equality House and urge others to do the same.
