I have the perfect spot for you—it’s right in between my best childhood friend and my aggravating coworker.

I have a special place in my heart for your shining eyes and gracious body.

I have a special place for your mistakes and your insecurities.

I have a special place in my heart for every crevice of your soul.

You’re not the only one who has a special place in my heart. My heart expands daily to fit all the people I keep finding love for. My heart keeps filling up with love, endlessly working to find more space, but never running out of room. It’s filling up so much that my days overflow with love.

This is the love I share with you.

Maybe it has been a while since someone told you they love you and meant it, so let me explain.

I love you does not mean you’ve seen me naked. I love you does not mean I think we should get married. It does not mean I want to have your babies. It does not mean I want to be inseparable best friends for life. Although, it could.

I love you means I see something inside of me—that is just like something inside of you—and because of it we are the same. I cannot help but love you.

I love you means by just being you—you remind me of my own beauty, so I don’t expect anything in return. And you shouldn’t feel like you need to give me anything.

I love you means I see you for who you really are and I am still prepared to be there for you no matter what.

I love you means I am prepared to remind you on a regular basis of your own greatness. I am ready to convince you that you are filled with love. You can be overflowing with love, too.

I am prepared to be honest with you and compassionate towards you.

I am prepared to be there for you when things get unimaginably tough.

I am prepared to be there for you when it all becomes a little bit too overwhelming and you’re crying your eyes out during savasana; in your car, or in the middle of the grocery store.

I am prepared to be there for you even when you’ve been unhappy for so long you forget how to be nice.

I have a special place in my heart for you.

Maybe I won’t make space for you the first time I meet you, or even the second. But one day, it won’t take long, the eyes of my heart… and see the beauty of your soul and a space will open up for you.

Then, there will always be a space for you in my heart whether our paths stay close or drift apart.

No matter if our love stays simple or gets complicated. No matter if you use my love as a way to hurt me. You will always stay in my heart.
