So God made a Boy.

And so God made a boy.

Someone to remind you to have a little fun when things get too serious. Someone to make you crack a smile when you are down. He will always make you smile.

He will not be perfect by any means. Sometimes he will live in his own little world. It might be a common occurrence for him to walk out to the car in the morning when getting ready to go to school and not have his backpack, or his jacket, or even his shoes.

His hair will often stick up slightly in “bedhead” fashion, and he will saunter out with his shoes half on.

His sisters may try to “mother” him but he will shrug them off and roll his eyes. He will relish in grossing them out.

When he is bored, he will stick his foot in their faces or walk in the room simply to let out a belch and then leave. This will result in squeals and complaints that he is disgusting.

He will be tough in front of his friends. They will drive you crazy when they are together by being loud and leaving crumbs all over the carpet. They will stay up late which will keep you up late also.

He will have an innate sense of adventure and while hiking, will always want to go off the path. He will think bugs are cool and will ask if he can have a snake. When you tell him no, he will want a lizard. And then a dog. You will probably give in at some point to one of these.

He won’t complain a lot, but when he does, you know he means it.

You will hate to see him sick or hurting because he rarely shows that side of himself. When he is sick, you will make him soup and he will let you rub his head. You will feel so grateful that you can be there for him.

He will help you carry the groceries in, but sometimes you will need to remind him. He will probably put things away in the wrong places, but you won’t mind too much.

One day, he may fall in love and you will pray that he doesn’t get his heart broken.

He will have a very big heart and he will wear it on his sleeve, so you will worry about that.

He will sometimes be a calm presence when things get turned upside down, which you will be thankful for because you will need him sometimes almost as much as he will need you.

And so that’s why God made a boy.
