Meditation for the Season: Breaths of Gratitude.

Place your left hand on your heart.

Breathe. Place your right hand on your left hand. Breathe. Feel the flow of inhale and exhale. Feel the heart. Allow the mind to step lightly like an angel floating above morning’s paintbrush that softens your day as you gaze, this time finding the sunrise of your heart.

Invite gratitude in. Let gratitude pool in your blood and run through your veins like the prana that dances like a nymph on the nadis. Breathe.

Take a thank you and fold it like a napkin in your lap for grace. Take a thank you, place it under your palms, a wish of light. Take a thank you and let it rest on the tip of your nose to tickle the inhale into a smile on your lips.

Let that smile rest on your mouth and move into your eyes. Let your eyes see the joy your tongue whispers as it tastes gratitude on a chant of Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, Om.

Believe with the mantra of unity and peace in your oneness and calm.

Know love is the lace to the holiday season. Know no matter what the universe seeks your healing and supports your dreams. Know if surrounded by family or home alone without a turkey love abounds. Know a day comes and goes and its blessing lives because you live. Know whether or not your heart is full or tipping over because it cannot quite hold all the grief, you will be okay.

You will laugh and you will cry. You will remember. You will forget. You will celebrate. You will let go. You will change. You will accept. You will deny. You will struggle. You will succeed. You will fail. You will try. You will fall down and you will get up.

You will survive.

And as you survive you will invite gratitude into your life consciously. You will list the blessings in your life of friends, family, hope and love, lessons learned, lessons of loss and lessons of survival.

You will breathe into now. You will meditate on now. You will cradle your heartbeat under your hands bringing comfort to your being and honor who you are and how you are. You will move through the season with ease. You will do what must. You will work and you will play. You will sleep and you will dream.

You will chant Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, Om. You will open your eyes. You will plant one palm in the other in a mudra of offering and bow to your light and the light of the day. You will say Namaste to honor you and me and all you know. You will thrive.
