Waylon Lewis & his mother Linda Lewis. {Video}

Walk the Talk Show With Waylon Lewis.

My mom was wild when she was younger—an adventurer, independent, hard-working. But as a single mom I saw her work herself half to sleep, every day—two jobs, one as a teacher, no car often, no TV, no expensive fast food (basic bulk and cooking was cheaper), exhausted…but she also invested in community, and it loved her, and she devoted herself to her son, and he grew to love reading and simple things—rescuing a dog, walking in parks, movies at the Library—and despite my supporting her a little bit for a long time (not nearly enough, I need more success for that) she’s still basically broke, and fulfilled in service and daily joy. So many of us are not broke, and not fulfilled.

One Take Featuring Linda Lewis.

Waylon sits down…with the biggest VIP in his life: his mother! Linda Lewis tells us about meditation, raising a family and her early experiences studying with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, a pioneering Buddhist teacher.

“…so in the beginning I would be holding you, and then you would be sitting in my lap. …and then when I would practice at home and I would keep the door open so I wouldn’t be shutting you out.”
~Linda Lewis on raising a child & being Buddhist
