What if Gay was Straight & Straight was Gay? {Warning: Triggering Video.}

This is an eye opening account of what it would look like if the shoe were on the other foot.

Actually, the shoe is on the same foot—intolerance and hatred of another person because of their sexuality is awful no matter who it is, but the impact of this version of the world—where heterosexuality is viewed as wrong—highlights why it shouldn’t matter who loves who.

In this stunning yet heart wrenching video starring Lexi DiBenedetto and entitled “All You Need is Love,” a girl experiences the kind of torment that kids and teens go through still, today.

Does anyone want this for their children?

I don’t proclaim to have any solid knowledge of what living this kind of reality is like. I didn’t go through this kind of abuse from classmates because of who I am, who I was born to be. As a parent, I strive to make it known that my sons will be accepted no matter who they are or who they bring home to dinner. We talk about inequality and bullying regularly, especially when the school-yard taunt “you’re gay” comes up in conversation.

What a person, never mind a child, still goes through today is terrifying. It needs to be shared. We need to educate every human on this planet.

My 14-year-old kid said quietly as I was watching and simultaneously getting ready to share this, “Mom, stop typing. You need to see the end. Because this is what really happens.”

Umm not trying to kill the moment and the video but No. Im not trying to say that we shouldn't love each other but, your perception of love is different from God's. You can't switch it around and make it were homosexuals is how humans started out because that would make it were God is stupid and foolish, and he is not. Ephesians 5:22-33 tells us why God made man and women to be the only ones united. " 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.[a] 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

See a husband and wife are an example of Jesus and the Church, or people that believe in him. If God would of made man and man or women and women to be united. then this scripture would of never happened and Christ would of never come. Im not saying that i hate homosexuals, actually the opposite i love them dearly, and its because i love them that i say yes homosexuality is wrong, not because i think its wrong but because God dosn't want this sin to kill you just like it did in the video. God dosnt say things to suck the fun out of stuff, he says it because he dosnt want you to feel pain and suffering that sin brings, he set up everything for a reason, so that we will be able to live are lives with Joy.

Jesus was a tolerant individual as reflected in his actions towards the outcasts of society, ie lepers, prostitutes, adulterers ect. He would never have condoned the treatment and bullying that goes on towards someone because they are homosexual. You say you love homosexuals and yet you keep talking about them as sinners. This suggest that you think yourself sin-free. Judge not lest you be judged and on and on. Anyone can quote bible verses but really not get what the true concept concerning love is about. Jesus had it figured out. He never mentioned homosexuals. His love thy neighbour pretty much summed up his thoughts on things.

    • Robininmass says:

You're missing the point, the video is not about switching it around its about the pain that people who are different than what we perceive as normal behavior are treated. Period!! This was heart wrenching and I can't imagine anyone going through this for any reason. The bible doesn't say beat and humiliate, taunt and demean those whom you don't agree with.

    • Titan says:

How about you stop quoting the bible and watch the video again as apparently you haven't learned anything from it.

    • Katy says:

I get what you are saying. If women loved women and men loved men- if that would be the world's nature then humanity would not survive.
But, I do think that homosexuality always existed, but was not recognized and not taken seriously.
Every one should be allowed to live their life as they want without discrimination. People can believe in any religion, be any race, any gender, any ethical group- as long as they are a good person I have no problem with them.

Really beautiful video, but I think it says something sad about the world we live in that in order to practice empathy, we need to imagine having the tables turned on us. Not saying anything bad about the video though, I think everyone involved in the creative process did an amazing job. And as for the commenter above, (TheGreatMultidude) people like this aren't even worth anyone's time. We need to stop paying attention to all the intolerant, self-centered shits out there.

  8. Lyn Bullock says:

Powerful and Poignant Video. I hope it reaches all the bullies and haters who need to see it for the sake of their souls and humanity…

  9. pculliton says:

This is a great video– I have seen it before. But as a long-time (30+ years) teacher who has fought for the right to be glbt-inclusive in the literature classroom, I beg you to remove the "trigger warning" nonsense from your title.

Don't you realize that it's just another term for the technique haters use to demand that teachers warn everyone about inclusive literature so that they can opt their kids out of it and continue teaching them bigotry unfettered? Yes, this video might trigger empathy!
