Bucket of Sloths.

This bucket of sloths will lighten your heart today. It will give you sweet dreams before bed and put you in a good mood anytime you need it.

It is said that cultivating compassion starts with little things that easily open our hearts, even if just a little bit. I doubt there are any hearts so hardened these little videos couldn’t soften.

I first discovered these several years ago and became curious about who would keep a bucket of baby sloths. And why baby sloths? Where are their Mamas and Papas?

There is a Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica.

I haven’t visited yet but it’s on my list of places to go next time I’m on the Caribbean coast. The sanctuary rescues sloths that have been electrocuted from climbing power lines, hit by cars, captured by humans or are otherwise injured and in need of assistance. It turns out occasionally baby sloths are abandoned and people take them to the sanctuary for care. The sanctuary rehabilitates and releases sloths under their care. They also have many permanent residents who could not survive again in the wild.

Here you have it, an overdose of cuddly cuteness for whenever your heart needs some tenderness. To learn more be sure to visit the Sloth Sanctuary website or watch the Animal Planet series Meet the Sloths.
