Thirsty? Some Drinks to Try! {Product Review}

I have a confession to make.

I buy bottled water. (wince) Okay, I have been working on buying less bottled water because my teenaged daughter is obsessive about being green and I know that these plastic bottles are terrible for the environment. So when I had the opportunity to review this product, I thought…hmmm. Maybe this is a nice compromise?

Icebox Water is Norwegian Spring water in a carton. What is pretty cool about this is that is not made from plastic, but rather cardboard—just like a milk carton. While I still feel that carrying a re-usable water bottle or mason jar is probably a more sustainable choice, I do think that Icebox Water is a nice alternative to the plastic variety. These cartons are said to be BPA free and recyclable.

The water tastes nice—typical to most bottled waters one would buy. I did find drinking directly from the box  was a little awkward because the spout is on an angle at the top unlike a water bottle would be. This makes the tip of the carton bump your nose as you tilt it up to drink. My youngest daughter seemed to think this was not a problem and stole the other box from me.

I also feel that this does not solve the problem of importing water in from another country when we could easily drink from our own taps with a filter. However, overall I think this is a nice product if you would like to purchase packaged water sustainably or cannot use your tap for some reason such as a trip or water contamination.

The other product I was able to review was Amy & Brian’s Coconut Juice. I am not a big fan of coconut juice, but found their product to have a pleasant, mild taste. This juice is made from “young coconuts” which most likely lends to the milder flavor.

A friend of mine that enjoys drinking coconut water and juice really enjoyed it. An interesting thing about coconut juice is that it makes a lot healthier alternative to sports drinks as it is thought to be a great electrolyte replacement because it is low is carbohydrates, high in potassium and low in sodium.

Overall, I’m not sure I would purchase these products much personally but I do see them being well-recieved by many.
