Uncage My Heart. ~ Hannah Harris {Poem}

Moon Cocoon

Uncage My Heart

The bluebird asked it of the moon

Uncage My Heart

The words over and over, whistled

like a prayer

from one creature, sapphire and soft

to another creature, radiant in cool honey blaze.

Uncage My Heart and let her be free

For even here

behind these walls

she sings and thrives and pounds

She bleeds and paints

She rattles and rests and seethes with life

From behind bars of bone

seeps her glow.

And so

Uncage My Heart

Let her break free and radiate

Let her drip wine and spark fire

Roll in dust and tumble in clay

And be forever free alongside you

Mother Moon
