“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” ~  J.R.R. Tolkien

On these deliciously hot days, there is nothing like an equally delicious guacamole to dive into. Especially after a run, yoga or any workout, refueling with some good fat and protein to restore and repair the muscle is ideal.

Here is quick and easy guacamole recipe—with a kick—to get you going!

A great snack for summer feasts where, with this recipe, you’ll most likely become the life of the party—-actually with or without it, you’ll still be!

Ingredients:

  • 3 avocados—halved, seeded and peeled
  • 1 juiced lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 diced medium onion
  • 1/2 minced jalapeno pepper
  • 2 diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove minced garlic

Directions:

Place the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice in a large bowl.

Drain, and reserve the lime juice, after the avocados have been coated.

With a potato masher add the salt, and cayenne and mush!

Fold onions, jalapeno, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic—stat!

Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice.

How to Enjoy:

Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour and then serve with pita or flax seed chips and down with a cold brewed iced tea or beer.

Put your heels up and relax.

Easy-peasy.
