Television. {Poem}

TV_Interruption_by_David_Hall_1971

The Television Set,

The box, the tube,

The thing you treat like a pet,

That gobbles time like food,

The thing that talks of science and how to bake pies,

The box that contains reality and horror,

The thing that lies and lies and lies,

The thing you trust to be a mirror,

It feeds you gossip, stories of every sort,

Taps in to your desire to watch, making you a voyeur,

Real life becomes a hobby or a sport,

But TV’s the real deal, of that you’re sure.
