Take Me As I Am. {Poem}

tears

Yet to turn adrift to my fortune set before my first breath

Yet to give my vows, my heart, and my life to this undying death
Yet to stand in the west and be burnt by the setting sun
Yet to rejoice—more to mourn for our love has been undone

Come to my call; the one that echoes through the ages
Come be my all; through wisdom of pain and blessing of sages
Come have my body; lust and death mingle until our spirit soars
Come have my heart; flicker as my twin flame and be separate no more

For the longing beats in my chest like a war drum
For the seeking is not finding for you are yet to come
For the hope bitters desire until it pains me to desire more
For the fickle winter and illusion of summer reside at my door

I’m so close to you; my eyes cannot see
I’m so far from you; I know not who to be
I’m so entangled to you; my sorrow is like weeds
I’m so estranged from you; I’m brought to my knees

Pray I do for voice to break the darkness and become vow
Pray I do for the years of waiting transfix into our powerful now
Pray I do that my desperate heart no longer be ill
Pray I do that when asked if you take me as I am, you will.
