I Flirt with Demons. {Poem}

Spirit of Tantra by Hartwig HKD

Me

I fly too close to the sun

Drawn to its warmth

Blinded by the light

Desperately seeking

The illumination

Of a new dawn

A stunning brightness

A better day

I stand in the shadows

Comforted by the cover

Of a blackness

That outwits the sun

And outruns the moon

A salve for the wounds

That shy away

From piercing

Knowing eyes

Me

I know the colours of love

Of life

The shards of loss

That cut into my days

And carve through my nights

Letting me know

That thieves of freedom

Inhabit my mind

I flirt with demons

The bad and the brave

Finding their passion

Their tangled truth

In troubled minds

Restless and roaming

Searching for truth

For sweet release

Me

I’m caught in the tide

Surging forward

Over and under

Succumbing to the rush

The heady waves

The seductive swell

My crashing oblivion

Love elephant and want to go steady?
