Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, to give away his entire fortune.

Yesterday Fortune Magazine named Tim Cook number one in their list of World Greatest Leaders.

“He is a leader who exemplifies a clear vision of how to inspire others.”

Cook has been the CEO of Apple since 2011. He was under great pressure to perform, after succeeding Steve Jobs. Despite having such big shoes to fill, Cook has proved himself to be a great innovator. Apple is moving forward under the direction of its first non-founder.

He’s decided to share the fruits of success with others.

Cook, who is close to becoming a billionaire, says he will pay for his nephew’s college education, then donate the rest of his wealth to philanthropic projects, according to Fortune.

This is not the first time Tim Cook has been in the news spotlight in the past year.

In October he publiclically came out, becoming a global leader in gay rights. Cook is getting to be known as a leader who uses his power to addresses socially impactful subjects like human rights, race equality, female representation on Wall Street, access to education, immigration reform and privacy rights.

“I want to be the pebble in the pond that creates the ripple for change.” ~ Tim Cook
