Anxiety and depression have been a part of my life for years now.
They have brought me down, paralyzed me and almost killed me.
I wrote this poem when I was recovering and finally finding some inner peace. My hope in sharing it with others is that they see the light at the end of the tunnel. Things can change if we work on them.
If we acknowledge our emotions and accept our weaknesses we will be able to move forward. This poem is about letting go and moving forward. It’s about coming back to life after walking through darkness.
In my heart there is a fear
Subtle and strong
Almost gone.
In my heart there is softness
Inexhaustible & energetic
A magical source.
In my heart there is a flower
That long faded, reborn
Is starting to grow.
A flower that in the light
Of joy, blooms
To overcome darkness.
Opening up its petals
To the grand ball
Of life.
Inhale it ! Yes ! Do it !
Intoxicate yourself with its scent
Sweetness, pleasure, happiness
In your nostrils
At your fingertips.
To help you,
Listen to your true self.
