We’re looking for someone part-time, we’ll pay well, we want someone longterm. This is an entrepreneurial role, where management expects the hire to help determine their own course and priorities to achieve the desired objectives.

Initially this person will help elephant migrate from our existing custom shopping cart and membership database to a more commonly used product—likely Woo Commerce. The new hire will also be writing the custom PHP scripts necessary to meet our particular needs for the Woo plugins.

Working hand-in-hand with our retiring developer who has shepherded us caringly for the past 5 years, the new hire will become familiar with all the technical nuances of a site that has a database of over 40,000 articles and 23 million monthly page views. 

Near term projects include implementation of a new theme and development of an innovative new product that may change the way content sites surface articles.

This person will foremost be responsible for keeping the wings on the plane, the above-mentioned migrations, and thereafter for assessing and implementing the technical opportunities for elephant to increase our slope of growth with respect to readership, membership conversions, our emerging efforts in eCommerce and other revenue generating activities in addition to consistently refining the user experience.

It is critical that this person has a high degree of availability as they are the “key wo/man” in our “key wo/man dependent” environment. Nights and weekends have been needed for troubleshooting. Note: A job-share for this position between two qualified candidates is certainly an option.

This person is ideally located in Boulder, Colorado.
