Our Secret Garden. {Poem}

Box of Memories

“All is full of love.” ~ Bjork

I have laid you down in a soft box of memories
Tied with a ribbon of dreams
Sealed with my tears
Labelled our secret garden

And when you open the box
The first three words you see,
Your words:
“Look at me.”

All our talks
Our moments
Our photos
Our poems
Our letters
Our depth
Our music
Our words
Your sweet as sugar, beautiful loving tender words
Our love and
Our love songs
Our restaurant slips from places we once were
The little I had of you
My split heart necklace
You have half of my heart
And I have half of yours
Together the halves fit perfectly

I have laid you down in a soft box of memories
Tied with a ribbon of dreams
Sealed with my tears
Labelled our secret garden
Cherished and to be remembered

And I need to let go…

Perhaps one day when wounds are birds that can fly away
I’ll open it again

Until then, my beard man
Rest well and safe
May the angels of darkness and light be with you
Love will see us through.

Neon Girl

“A healing heart will find a way
Put the memories in here
Like a ribbon from your hair
The only thing that we’ve got left
Is soft and gentle care
In time I’ll wake up
And in time I’ll wake up feeling lighter
You are my neon girl…
You are the light of my life…”
