A Fleeting Love. {Poem}

Pink Sherbet Photography/Flickr

Is this a meeting of two souls that belong together?

Or is it just an unexpected chance?

My body trembles at your touch.
You feel at home,
But distant at the same time.

My hand in yours,
Made a perfect mold,
Broken by fate,
Randomly bonded.

The entire universe is inside of me,
I give myself completely,
And you take me on unknown trails,
Until we shine with our own light.

I saw you up-close, perhaps you saw me.
And there were no wasted nights,
Where my body would embrace yours.

Fate has returned to straighten the path,
But a passion that transcends remains in me.

And the eternal question fades,
This was a prohibited familiarity,
A fleeting love.
