Waking up to Oats. {Breakfast Recipe}

Overnight Oats 2

A lot of people complain that they do not have time for breakfast.

However, we all know (and have heard our entire lives) that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I wholeheartedly agree with that saying.

So, what do we do if we are simply too busy in the morning to think about a healthy, balanced breakfast?

Overnight oats.

Oatmeal is a healthy option when it comes to breakfast foods.

“Oatmeal in the morning” suggests measuring and heating and nobody has time for that before work.

Overnight oats is a combination of a few healthy, clean ingredients that is put together at night and stored in the fridge. In the morning, we take it out of the fridge and go.

It can even be eaten in the car.

Overnight Oats Ingredients

Here is the recipe:

1/4 cup quick oats

1/3 cup almond milk (any milk can be used, I just prefer almond)

1/2 cup yogurt (I prefer Greek vanilla)

1 T. chia or flax seeds

1/2 cup blueberries

3 strawberries

1/2 banana

Directions:

Mix all of the above ingredients in a mug, cup or mason jar.

Store it in the fridge.

Take it out in the morning. Enjoy!

Yes, it really is that simple!

This meal provides about 260 calories, four grams of fat, 50 grams of carbohydrates and about 10 grams of protein.

It’ll keep us full and satisfied until lunch—energized and alert. Not to mention, it kind of tastes like dessert.

No more excuses for not having time in the morning, because this takes less than five minutes at night and is super simple in the morning.
