Skin & Bone Soulmates. {Poem}

Flickr/Eleazar

I can still taste your breath on my lips
And feel the earth between my toes

I can feel the salt water on my skin
I can smell you on my clothes

I can see you beneath my eyes
And your touch lingers in my finger tips
You fold my body into yours
And your hands dissolve into my hips

I wear my memories like clothes
Sewn into my skin and bone
Images branded into the corners of my mind
And fears that I’ve hidden in alone

You are forever marked on my body
Marks that will not fade over time
Because in me you left a permanent crease
And your body is sewn into mine
