Healing Dance Party Songs for the Chakras.

The best way to optimize our chakras and energetic systems is by relaxing and having fun.

Yes, we need to look at the hard stuff in our lives.

Yes, we need to turn self-hate into self-love and forgive our biological families and do all the tough work of being honest about where we hurt.

But we also need to simply enjoy life.

So, why not combine it?

Each of our seven major chakras governs different essential elements of our existence. By exposing ourselves to the words and beats of music that affirms each chakra, we can bring more awareness into our systems of how we want our chakras to optimally be.

Okay, let’s let the chakra healing dance party begin.

Root Chakra

The Root Chakra governs our sense of safety and feeling like we deserve to be in the world.

Michael Franti sums up the best affirmation for the Root Chakra here when he sings, “Life sounds like, I’m Alive.” Thanks Mr. Franti for the great tune and healing words!

Sacral Chakra

The Sacral Chakra is our pleasure center. Sometimes we get too serious about life and think getting through is all about suffering and working hard. But the Sacral Chakra needs us to be creative, innovative and sexual, and to experience pleasure while doing all of it.

Cindy Lauper figured this out years ago:

Solar Plexus Chakra

It is fascinating how the Solar Plexus Chakra is our power center and our self-love center. Hmm… I wonder where our real power comes from?

The fantastic Al Green is suggesting it might be from Love and Happiness here in this song:

Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra extends way beyond loving thy neighbor, to loving the whole world. In this song, Macy Gray helps us stop and see all the beauty that is right here in front of our eyes:

Throat Chakra

It is so cool how the throat chakra combines authentic self with expression. Yes, we can talk and talk and talk, but what do we really want to say? Cat Stevens suggests if you want to sing out then just sing out, and if you want to be free then just be free. Maybe it is as easy as he is suggesting:

Brow Chakra

The Brow Chakra is naturally creative, naturally innovative and naturally visionary. We just have to get out of our own way. The best way to do this is to stop worrying so dang much. Thanks, Bob, we all need these wise words: “Don’t you worry, about a thing, every little thing is going to be alright.”

Crown Chakra

There is light now in our Crown Chakra, there is light in the future of our Crown Chakra, and there is light in the past of our Crown Chakra. We just need to open to it. No better way than by swaying along to the grooves of Ben Harper and The Blind Boys of Alabama:
