Somewhere on the edge of tomorrow

And the other side of yesterday
Let’s meet under a comet’s tail.
You and I can be us again
Even if it’s just for one day.
We can talk about all the days gone by
The good, the bad and everything in between.
We can smile and remember all our yesterdays
Our first dance, our first kiss
All those summer nights under the stars,
Forever untouched and frozen in time.
You came along when I needed you the most my dear
You taught me how to love not only another,
But how to love myself as well.
You loved me for everything I was
And everything I was not.
You were my rock, my best friend and the love of my life
But fate had other plans for us.
You forever have a piece of my heart
That no man can ever touch.
Maybe someday, maybe in some other life,
We will get a second shot.
Until then, I’ll see you in a space and in a place only we know
Even if it’s only a dream.
