The Forgotten Erogenous: Nipples and Tantra. {Adult}

Pixoto/Sadat Tanvir

Nipples, tits, teats, mammary glands—men and women share them alike. But when it comes to attraction, men’s get neglected and women’s over used and maybe even over rated.

As infants we come fixed on our mother’s nipples knowing they are a source of food. So much like a bird’s beak, nipples are synonymous with the pleasure of eating and the satiating nature of food.

In fact the word nipple is an old English word derived from a term meaning beak—-hardly the sexy things we associate with a woman’s breasts. Why is it that we are so fixated on nipples? Is it like an Oedipal complex, where a boy has his first taste of sexuality staring at his mother’s teats? It is an incomplete understanding of the nipples many seductive virtues that do not apply to just women alone.

These delectable parts of our anatomy become aroused with just a whisper of a touch. It’s not surprising that a sixteenth century slang term for nipples was ‘cherrilets’—rather endearing.

And nipples are just that seductive, like round ripe fruit, waiting to be licked. If done correctly, a proper massage of the aureola and nipple can induce an orgasm. Not the kind that is full blown explosive, exhausting and leaves a lover breathless. This is the languid longing for more, a touch that can be known as tantric.

But there is an art to a nipple massage.

We want to make sure nipples are hard and erect, like tiny penises. Yes, men’s nipples can be stimulated to the point of orgasm too. Just be patient. It is a slow path to a climax but one you both will want to savor.

Just a gentle light touch will do, but there is a technique. And it is not only pleasurable; regular breast massages promote the overall health of the breast and help keep the tissue firm. Use a light circular motions around the entire breast—breasts, particularly the outer edges of the nipple, areola, are not the place to apply the pressure of a deep tissue massage. Sometimes, the feather light flicker of a finger around the edges of the breast is all it takes to induce that calming and yet stimulating feeling.

The key is to calm just enough but not relax to sleep—we are talking about a lingering pleasure, like the coziness of a warm bed on a cold day. Just as we sense our partner’s body go limp, we can increase the speed of the massage a little more, but the key is to keep the same light touch. Almost like a tickle to heighten and bring to the cusp of an orgasm, and at this point we may want to massage other parts in the more southern regions.

The purpose of this massage is to relax and fully focus on our partner’s touch. This isn’t a quick race to the main act of intercourse, because we are looking to achieve a climax without it. It is about the most basic mechanics of pleasure: taste and touch.

Some things you might want to try are:

  • Placing lubrication on the nipple once it is erect.
  • Gently caressing the nipple with the tip of your tongue.
  • Caressing one nipple with your tongue and the other with a finger tip.
  • And for those who want to be very adventurous, try whipped cream. Dab it gently around the outer edges of the areola. The coldness of the it arouses the nipple making it start to become erect and more sensitive as it is licked off slowly.
