July’s Full Moon in Capricorn: The Heart wants what it Wants.

*Eleditor’s note: Astrology isn’t a religion. We’re not sure it’s a science, either. It’s magic, maybe. But, as with feng shui, say, things affect things. So as long as we don’t go blaming our problems on the stars, as long as we assume responsibility for our own actions…well, hell, a little auspicious coincidence and applicable wisdom can’t hurt. And so, with that grain of salt…enjoy!

“There will be a few times in your life when your instinct will tell you to do something, something that defies logic, upsets your plans and may seem crazy to others. When that happens, do it. Listen to your instincts and ignore everything else. Ignore logic, ignore the odds, ignore the complications and just go for it.” ~ Judith McNaught

On Tuesday July 19, 2016 there will be a Full Moon in the sign on Capricorn.

The latest two Full Moons were bookends of the rare Sagittarius Full Moons, which showed us that there are many sides to any situation.

Once Mars moved direct at the end of June, things started to move in a direction that we would never have anticipated yet seemed to be pleasantly surprised about. At times things seemed to stop-and-go—one step forward and two steps back.

Though it was frustrating at times, it also was precisely where we needed to be during these first few weeks of July. Now, with this Full Moon, we will be moved to simply pursue whatever is calling to our heart.

There is no rational explanation for the amazing.

This isn’t about the stars aligning and making us fall in love, nor can we blame the cosmos when a relationship falls apart. But, just as the planets and moon affect the oceans, they also affect us.

During the Full Moon this month the axis between Cancer and Capricorn will be highlighted asking us to ponder the difference between what we want and what is expected of us.

Cancer loves to love and Capricorn likes to do the job right—but with these two signs in opposition, it can be a reality check that has been a long time coming.

“Three things can not be long hidden: the sun, the moon and the truth.” ~ Buddha

Sometimes the simplicity of the heart wanting what it wants is actually our greatest confusion, because sometimes what our heart wants just isn’t convenient.

We have to choose between following our hearts or doing what is expected of us—yet, this is an ultimatum that we give ourselves.

No one is asking us to choose this time.

No one is telling us that there is an all or nothing situation because this time, we can have both.

Yes, we may have to rearrange our plans and realize that the life we’d pictured for ourselves simply isn’t the life we are meant to live. When we accept this reality the life we get to live after understanding this will be so much better.

But this time the decision rests solely in our hands.

No one will make these important changes for us, and more importantly, we have to listen to ourselves in matters of the heart.

No one knows the truth of our heart, except us.

In the days leading up to this Full Moon it’s important to ask yourself: what is my heart trying to tell me?

Where does it want to be?

We can’t have it all until we first tell ourselves that we deserve it all.

There doesn’t have to be a choice between love and responsibility—these polar opposites only exist if we make decisions based on fear.

The truth is that we can do it all, we can have what our heart wants and uphold the responsibilities that surround us, but the first step is acknowledging that there is a difference between the two.

No matter how much we would like to dictate our hearts, it’s one aspect of ourselves that will do what it wants to do.

When we learn new information it can easily change our mind. We can change the physicality of our bodies, but there is no such thing as changing our hearts.

If our heart just isn’t invested in something—or someone—then no amount of time or talking ourselves into it can make it so.

Or, sometimes our heart pulls us toward something thats illogical but the heart will get it’s way.

In order to be satisfied we have to make the conscious choice to incorporate every aspect of our desires and our needs into one single life. No one can make us happy if we haven’t figured out or acknowledged what we want.

Each of us has ideas about what our life should be like. Sometimes the best we can do is hang on loosely to these ideas, but what if we simply let go?

What if we stopped trying so hard to make life be the way we’d envisioned it and instead made room for enjoying life as it is meant to play out?

There is a reason for everything in this amazingly beautiful life—both the struggles and the successes.

We can’t have one without the other.

And though we can’t toss the realities of life to the side, we also can’t ignore our hearts forever.

Sometimes there isn’t a logical reason why the heart wants what it wants.

This is not about trying to figure our hearts out either—just like with love, either our hearts are in it or they aren’t.

We’ve had a year of delving to the bottom of our souls and of moving toward the next step of our journey, but now there is one last piece of information to be dealt with.

Our hearts.

Because each one of us deserves love, we deserve to feel cherished and at peace with someone who feeds our souls—and now is the time to act upon it.

To make those choices from love so that we can welcome love into our life with a heart wide open.

So, now the only question left to ask is what does your heart want?
