My Heart Breaks a little Each Morning when I Read the News, but this gave me Hope Today.

I’ve never been mugged or robbed, but I don’t think I’d have the presence of mind to react the way he did.

Turns out this is quite an old story told by Julio Diaz, a social worker from the Bronx, but it renewed my faith in humanity today…Once I had gotten over my surprise. You’ll never guess what he does.

“Every night, he ends his hour-long subway commute to the Bronx one stop early just so he can eat at his favorite diner.

But one night, as Julio stepped off the train and onto a nearly empty platform, his evening took an unexpected turn when he was robbed by a teenage boy…Julio recalls what happened next.”
