My philosophy is to listen to my Grandmother! Let’s not reinvent the wheel here and just look back at Traditional Diets. After all Heart disease and cancer have only been increasing since the 20’s when industrialization of food was introduced.14 views

My guess is if the Buddha did New Years’ Resolutions, the Four Noble Truths would’ve looked like this: 1. In life there is time-wasting 2. The origin of time-wasting is unconsciousness 3. To stop being unconscious you must know what you want and what you don’t want (duh!) 4. To know what you want and what you don’t want, walk the noble twelvefold path....134 views

I believe I have become utterly obsessed with my body image and what I am putting into my body. I would probably even be considered to have an "eating disorder." Geeze, what a huge bummer! Or is it? Maybe this realization isn’t such a bummer; maybe it’s the doorway to loving myself again and the window to seeing the true image of the person in the mirror.304 views

Being a writer is much like giving birth. A seed is planted. You're excited, you make preparations, you nourish the seed carefully, anxiously awaiting for it to mature. Finally, the time has come to introduce your creation to the world. It's scary. And messy. It's hard pushing your love out into the big scary world. There's even some screaming and some bloodshed.568 views

The truth is, most cleaning products on the market are toxic chemical cocktails, and when you spritz your bathtub or kitchen counter with that brightly colored liquid you're exposing yourself and your family to endocrine-disrupting phthalates, carcinogenic benzene, and organ-damaging phenols, just to name a few.673 views

Around my house, I often find myself trying to convince my little boy that certain foods or clothes or places or people are “just like green eggs and ham." Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't -- but isn’t it funny that as adults we stop listening to these valuable childhood lessons? We often do not like "green eggs and ham yoga perspectives," even if we don’t know much about them.178 views

"It can be tempting for us to simplify this observation into the easily digestible message that tooth decay and other degenerative diseases are simply a result of the transition to modern life and diet, but if we do this, we wind up missing the overwhelming emphasis that Price placed on what he called primitive wisdom."73 views

It dawned on Ms. Nelson, who also has worked as a marketing and communications consultant for businesses, that there was something she could do to help meet this need. Her vision was to create a win-win solution whereby clients in need can obtain alternative health care treatments at a reduced cost and whereby practitioners can grow their businesses by dramatically increasing their clientele. Hence, the “Wellness Networx.” Wellness Networx is a network of alternative health care providers in and around the Boulder area that offers services at affordable discounted rates for members.98 views

This poem is Allen praying his grace transfer to you, reader. Praying for you to snap out of it, with the considerable evocative nuance of this master poet. He prays for you and to you, and none of it comes off as prayer.353 views

The drug industry really has not left one stone unturned when it comes to controlling the information that is disseminated about their drugs, and this includes the media. It's a simple idea: if you don't like the bad press you're getting, why not buy out the media so you can have a say in what gets printed?79 views

Breast milk, of course, is a young child's lifeline. It naturally builds immunity during childhood development, and provides perfect and balanced nutrition necessary for human growth. Withholding breast milk in order to accommodate the rotavirus vaccine, as the CDC researchers suggest, is an absolutely insane notion that will deprive children of vital nutrition and proper immune development.173 views

Okay, I know that Wanderlust has expanded over the years and along with their city events they have a number of other large festivals across the U.S., but I’m going to make myself a target and assert that not a one of them cam touch the scenery at the California Wanderlust site. Where else can you practice handstands 8,000 feet above sea level to the faint sounds of kirtan and a gentle pine scent that no car freshener can touch? Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevadas are extraordinarily compelling. Want to give Gaia some love? There’s no better place than Squaw Valley, CA.417 views
