Guac and Roll

Let’s Guac and Roll, Baby!

For those that might have missed it, today was Boulder’s Park(ing) Spaces Day (http://communitycycles.org/advocacy/bike-month-2008/88-to-work/), where a number of businesses changed a parking space or two into miniature parks to illustrate the point that with fewer spaces needed for cars, we have more space for people and good things. Spaces were turned into a variety of things: beaches, outdoor yoga studios, park spaces with benches, and so forth. Each space had something fun to do, and some even had drinks and/or munchies for all the crazy cyclists making their way through town. Full Cycle on Pearl Street was my first stop of the day, where Chipotle was passing out cups of chips and guacamole… a truly great way to start a ride through town! There seemed to be a fair number of people getting their Park(ing) Spaces cards signed, which was great to see. Here’s hoping for a repeat in ’09!
