This August 23-34, Yoga World Reach—which encourages yogis and yoginis around the world to take their practice beyond the mat and get active in causes they believe in—brings Yoga Rocks to Lyons, Colorado. The event includes workshops with local and national teachers, a la Yoga Journal Conference, but they’re also bringing in a host of musicians—Shanti Groove, The Motet Presents: Juno What?! and a traditional African ensemble are among the lineup—films, organic food vendors and camping. And on Saturday night, our Waylon Lewis will host a night of conversation with our favorite yoga activists and practitioners. At the root of the weekend is Yoga World Reach’s mission to celebrate the yoga lifestyle, and extend it to others through activism. A host of non-profits and socially engaged organizations will be there with information and resources to get involved in whatever cause is most important to you.
