Music review: One by Jamshied Sharifi

One is the second solo album from Jamshied Sharifi.

Sharifi is a New York City based composer who has worked on various soundtracks ranging from Harriet the Spy to The Thomas Crown Affair.  One is an interesting mix of world (especially Middle Eastern) and Western music and features vocalists as diverse as Paula Cole and Yunchgen Lamo.  It found its way to my Zune after the second time I listened to it, and I’ve found myself listening to it pretty frequently.  Some of the tracks are  laid back and mellow without being boring, while others will definitely serve to get your blood flowing a bit more quickly.  Released on Ceres Records, One can be purchased from CD Baby.
