The Lost Fingers: Modern Gypsy Swing Pop Sensation

The Lost Fingers: Modern Gypsy Swing Pop Sensation

A la Quebec City hails The Lost Fingers. The french trio blends classic gypsy swing with dance-floor pop songs from decades back when the bangs were big and the neon spandex bright.

Everyone can dance to this, you would be crazy not to know any of these covers unless you were living in a cave like Milarepa. This silly retro jazz is especially good for weddings, hall-style dances and all ages parties. Their cover of Pump up the Jam by Technotronic (1989) will get even the worst of dancers hips shaking for sure.

Django Reinhardt is the obvious influence here but they also remind me a lot of Gypsophilia, a Halifax based band consisting anywhere from 2 to 15 musicians, they jam! This music jams!!!

Check out The Lost finger’s myspace page and have a little living room/office dance session. Do it.
