Jon Stewart is sorta like a benevolent demi-God. Things aren’t as they should be—the otherwise benign, reasonable, kind, moderate evangelical Pastor Rick Warren (giving prominent benediction prayer at Inaugural) opposes gay marriage? Mr. Stewart calls attention to it, with humor and incisiveness.

Gay Bishop’s Inaugural speech gets “accidentally” cut by HBO? No problem: Jon Stewart gives him and the issues surrounding LGBTQ/civil rights far more attention that it would’ve otherwise garnered, anyways—by immediately featuring him on The Daily Show.
