Out of touch Boehner doesn’t get that green jobs = domestic USA jobs.

President Obama: “I don’t care if you’re driving a hybrid or an SUV: if you’re heading for a cliff you’ve got to change direction. That’s what the American people called for in November, and that’s what we intend to deliver!”

Do we want a Green New Deal that will create new US-only jobs and create a new, modern America? Countless reports already show us falling behind on many technological and infrastructure fronts.

President Obama: “C’mon. We are not going to get relief by turning back to the very same policies that for the last eight years doubled the national debt and threw our economy into a tailspin.”

Boehner (pronounced “a**hole”) and his buddies got the middle class into this mess, and by god he’ll get us out of it—his (and his lobbyists) way. And that doesn’t include creating thousands of green jobs that, by their very definition, can’t be outsourced (Indians, Chinese, Vietnamese or Mexicans couldn’t have built the solar installation in my backyard). Treehugger reports:

…Evidently, House Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner…wants to do away with the stipulated $6 billion federal energy conservation program that would create the jobs and develop alternative energy technologies. And Boehner would cut the entire program…go to Treehugger to take action.

  1. Heather says:

“The arguments against slavery were always bumping against this: ‘But it’s an institution that’s been around forever! What would happen if we got rid of it? How would you pay people who lost their slaves, their valuable property? How would we harvest? It’s not practical. What would we do?’ Lincoln’s great moment was saying, ‘I don’t care of it’s destructive. Slavery is wrong.’ You start with ‘Is it right or wrong?’ Then you act on that judgment. You don’t say, ‘I’m not going to say it’s wrong because it would be too impossible to undo.’”
