elephantjournal.com advertising special.

Through Dec 10th, the following prices are available to any “mindful” business that is willing to prepay for a full year:

$100/month for standard square ads like this:

These ads are normally $250 each. We’re about 10 or 20 ads away from fully breaking even, including paying yours truly, and saving Hotelephant, our green-renovated home where Redford and I live and our small staff works from time to time, and where our talk show is based.

Can’t advertise, but want to support?

Our traffic is now up to 84K unique visitors this month. Readers click on an average of nearly two articles or videos each. 23% return more than once a month, and the rest are new readers—demonstrating our continued growth.
How you can help further:

1. a. Send your community an email or post a blog: and ask your communities to subscribe, free, to our weekly top ten blog email. One a week. That’s all. http://elephantjournal.com/join-the-cause

b. Ask them to follow us on twitter. We’ve been named top 10 nationally in green, yoga, Buddhism. And top 10 in Boulder: http://www.twitter.com/elephantjournal

c. Ask them to Fan elephant on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/elephantjournal

Why? Because the more folks read elephant for free, the closer we get to fulfilling our mission—preaching re “the mindful life” not only to our choir but beyond. And the more traffic we get, the more stable our advertising revenue becomes…and the more quality content we can produce, instead of short silly dumb blogs that we write in five minutes between trying to sell advertising!

2. Our Walk the Talk Show is Dec 10, with Chef Ann Cooper of the School Food Project, Kimbal Musk of Oneriot.com and The Kitchen, and Tesla; and Dave Kingsbury of Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s Bcycle bikesharing system.

In the past we’ve interviewed Alice Walker, Deepak Chopra, Amy Goodman, Bill McKibben, Byron Katie, Chris Sharma, Seane Corn, John Friend, Top Chef Hosea Rosenberg, Robert Thurman, Dr. Andrew Weil, Michael Pollan…Stay tuned for confirmed guests and musical acts.

Not in Boulder? Any web site that agrees to be a Walk the Talk Show Host Site: hosting four rotating videos a month on your home page, will be acknowledge live, named in video credits (videos are already on site pages totaling 1,000,000 unique viewers, so your name will get out there) and linked in our blogs on dozens of different sites. Want to host Walk the Talk Show videos on your site? They make for good content, good publicity, and more traffic, all for free. Just email back and let us know.

With most sincere thanks to you, who make our work possible–and with hope that we’re getting the good word out on the mindful life to more and more people with each passing month.

Yours,
Waylon Lewis
