Attention all art lovers! and BMoCA are proud to host the popular annual Open Wall and silent auction to benefit the arts community. It’s our first event since our sold-out New Year’s Eve Silver Screen Ball, which raised $8,000 for the museum!

Hang/display your work in the museum, bid on art, connect with community, listen to local music, and enjoy drinks.

Calling all artists, designers, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, and DIYers: This your chance to show your work in the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art—plus earn some cash too!

This event is open to artists of all mediums and all ages. Space is first come, first serve, and typically fills up fast. DOORS OPEN AT 7PM

RSVP here on Facebook.

Nails, hammers and limited tables and pedestals provided.

Citizen Artists: If you would like to sell your piece, a silent auction will take place from 8 – 10pm to raise money to support the museum…and to support you (a 50/50 split)!

  1. EJ uses the representation of the naked female form to advertise its event — even after criticising AA repeatedly for sexist advertising practices? I must be missing something …

  2. jonesgirl says:

I find the naked female form to be rather beautiful

  3. Oh, don't get me wrong — I do, too.

  4. MissCory says:

there's a difference between advertising and fine art…..

  5. The ad was designed out-of-house by a BMoCA event coordinator. Who is a woman. A strong, empowered, kick ass artist.

Thanks, Times. Any time you want to try your best to write something that comprehends the limitless contradictions of this editorial space—nothing wrong with sexuality, beauty, and yet what does that beauty look like, is it conventional in form or spiritual in essence—be my guest.

I mean it—would be an honor to have you contribute an article, any time. ~W.

  6. Thanks for the offer, I'll definitely consider that. (And I wasn't trying to be difficult, really. I was just pointing out something that occured to me.)

    Keep up the good work.

  7. I asked the designer to comment, but she hasn't. Frankly, while it's not my style, personally (the only thing I asked for was our logo at the top), I didn't think much about the design when she posted it here. I agree with you: can't get more objectified than a bosomy, headless mannequin!

  8. Thumbs up, Times, for your commenting, following up, inquiry and thoughtfulness. Appreciate it—that's what makes our site better over time, I hope.

  9. Thanks for hearing me out and for providing a venue for such discussion. Definitely think you have a good thing going here, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves.

  10. Count me in. Thanks for the explanation and the invite.
