President Sarah Palin? She’s hinted at a run in 2012, if President Obama’s support continues to be weak. So WTF has she done to earn our support, thus far?

  1. Justice says:

Sorry, but this is lame mean-spirited bashing that serves no-one. The elephant is capable of much better.

  2. Ditto comment one. We have to recognize propaganda memes and refuse to copy them.

  3. Eric says:

    actually, it is called "lampooning".
none other than Karl Rove has said that she "lacks gravitas", which is another way of saying, "we can't take her seriously".
and I don't. she lacks more than gravitas–I would say character, aptitude, intelligence…but that might sound mean-spirited.

and as for the Obama site, it also points out that we shouldn't put anyone on a pedestal–no matter what they promise in an election campaign. especially in a Plutocracy–which is what we have (elections notwithstanding). but that too might sound mean-spirited.

so the fact that Elephant lampooned both Obama and Palin is at least even-handed; if you think it's lame, well, okay…

  4. Eric says:

Greg, speaking of "propaganda memes", you follow Glenn Beck by your own admission.

  5. Eric says:

(caveat: didn't read through all the Obama WTF entries, I thought the financial reform and Guantanamo claims were jokes 🙂

  6. A good exercise is to step away from the mean-spirited journalism and ask what it is about Palin that appeals to people and what it is that she has to offer in a positive sense and what it is that she lacks. Not in a character assassination manner but in a realistic manner. Karl Rove is someone who I would take cautiously… he represents and insider mentality so I would take his critique with a grain of salt.

  7. Eric says:

thanks for the suggestion–I have listened to him on the radio and do not come to the same conclusions. Beck appeals to you. good luck with that.

  8. Eric says:

this would be the first and last thing that Mr. Rove and I would ever agree upon.
all character assassination aside: she's the new Dan Quayle–her appeal is that of a good cheerleader. no substance.

  9. That was a single of essentially the most useful posts I’ve seen in a prolonged prolonged time. nice deal of appreciated, I’m probably have to hang around here far extra.
