Thanks, GOP! Fun Concealed Guns are hot, Gun Control is not.

Republicans’ Loose Gun Laws lead to Concealed Weapons women’s fashion.

Hello, Kitty.

Guns that look like childrens’ toys? Brilliant.

“As more states allow citizens to carry concealed weapons, manufacturers and customizers are making guns that are flashier, more feminine and easier to pop…” …for the rest and more photos, click over to the NY Times.

Now that we can take guns everywhere and have ’em in our purse ready at a moment’s notice and children playing with toy guns might actually be playing with mommy’s pink fun gun, we all feel safer, don’t we?

I disagree. As a yogi, republican, Army “brat”, and gun owner, these guns are NOT the problem. The problem lies in people who do not go through the appropriate channels to own a gun legally. The problem lies in people who fail to take conceal and carry safety classes. The problem lies in people who don’t keep their ammunition separate from their firearm. And the problem lies in failure to use a gun as intended. Guns don’t kill people. People who don’t know how to use a gun kill people. However, as a woman, I will never carry a pink or Hello Kitty gun

In a climate where we have state legislatures voting to designate their "official state gun" (see, nothing surprises me.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." –Dwight D. Eisenhower
