I just bought a wooden bokken (practice sword) for one of my Halloween getups. It was plastic-wrapped.
Think about that for a second: why? Are they trying to keep it fresh? Trying to keep it from getting scuffed? It’s an effing wooden practice sword, its job is to get banged up!
Let’s review: plastic is forever. It never biodegrades, but we do eat it (in fish etc) where it has been linked to cancer. It’s toxic. It’s made out of oil, which is related to wars and pollution and asthma.
