I came across this moving and inspiring video today as it has gone viral on Facebook.  This man should be applauded. He is well spoken, smart, and if he were my son I would be damn proud.

“We just hope for equal and fair treatment from our government.”

“Can gays even raise kids? I raise my hand and say I was raised by a gay couple and I’m doing pretty well.”

“You are telling Iowans that some among you are second class citizens who do not have the right to marry the one they love.”

Managing Editor for YOGANONYMOUS, Producer for Where Is My Guru, Director of Social Media for YOGASCAPES and TumericALIVE, wife and mother of three, Jenn is really a superhero in disguise—or so she likes to think. In her spare time Jenn likes to read about and search for vampires, so if you happen to know or come across one, please do send them her way. Hit her up on Facebook or Twitter to discuss the various methods of tracking down said vampires. Also she is more than a little uncomfortable writing about herself in the third person, it may just be the hardest thing she's had to do, and that's saying something...

  3. Thanks Waylon! And thanks Kate! I was so moved by this, it stayed with me throughout the day so I had to make it eternal. 🙂

Fabulous! Zach is a powerhouse. Should he ever decide to run for President, he's got my vote.

I grew up in Iowa with everyone I knew making fun of it, whether they were from there or not. Some people even made fun of it and they'd never even set foot in Iowa, never even driven through Iowa. I have to say, since I left, Iowa has done me proud. 🙂

My favorite quote from Zach's speech was this: ‎"The sexual orientation of my parents has had zero effect on the content of my character." Now if only the rest of the country was as smart as the Iowans I know…
