Everything counts!

I can’t get over how cool these children are, and how cute, and the expressions of the boy in particular crack me up. And this dad…he makes parenting look way hipper than bachelorhood.

Via What: “Video artist Dicken Schrader rubs his sensational child-rearing skills in all our faces by enlisting the help of his kickass kids Milah and Korben in covering Depeche Mode’s ‘Everything Counts.‘”

Dicken Schrader: Teclado ochentero, xilófono, kazoo, pandereta, botella de Coca-Cola y voz de tarro.
Milah Schrader: Flauta dulce, sonajero, carillón y voz.

Dicken Schrader: 80’s keyboard, xylophone, kazoo, tambourine, Coke bottle and voice.
Milah Schrader: Recorder, rattle, windchime and voice.
Korben Schrader: Toy keyboard, maraca, cheese grater and voice.
Music and lyrics by Martin L. Gore (Depeche Mode)

The handshake seals the contract,
from a contract there’s no turning back,
the turning point of a career
in Korea being insincere.
The holiday was fun-packed,
the contract still intact.

The grabbing hands grab all they can,
all for themselves after all.
The grabbing hands grab all they can,
all for themselves, after all.
It’s a competitive world…
Everything counts in large amounts.

The graph on the wall
tells the story of it all.
Picture it now, see just how
the lies and deceit gained a little more power.
Confidence taken in
by a suntan and a grin.

  2. Love it! Yeah, parenting is wayyyy cooler than bachelorhood. It's the hardest yet most mindblowingly awesome thing I've ever done. Breakfast dance parties, playing in the mud, finger painting, knock knock jokes, jumping on the bed, making blanket forts–all much more fun when you have kids. The wonderful parts make the tough parts worthwhile.

I dunno, eating chips wearing a Filson hat still wearing my robe and it's evening now dog curled up beside me while watching hulu and thinking about taking a bath…bachelorhood is hard to beat.

  4. hah! Let's swap for a week! I could used an uninterrupted bath and a doggie to play with. And a Filson hat, now that you mention it.

Double-hah. I meant it to be a sort of pitiable picture…but the curled up dog saved it. ~ Way

LOVE this, Waylon, as well as many of your posts that I've seen but failed to comment on….This dad gets it, and I need to find me one like him. I just wish I didn't have to date jerks to find him….
