A Mother’s Day Dream.

Happiness to Mothers Everywhere

Forget flowers. This is what I want for mothers everywhere this year.

>A good night’s sleep. If you have babies then Benadryl might help. If you have teenagers, let the air out of the tires of their car.

>To be remembered. In my house, Mother’s Day often happens after breakfast, laundry, soccer, that thing we need for the school play, homework and dinner. Remember us early, and often.

>To be happy. Mothers take more mood enhancers than anyone else including a shot of vodka or bottle of wine, especially mothers of teenagers. Try contentment instead. Or that bottle of wine.

>To find their dharma. In yoga, dharma is our purpose, our duty. When you do your dharma, then everything feels right in the world. Whether your dharma is to go to work or to make dinner, do not second-guess yourself. Do it with pride. Do it with gusto!

>Happy children. Above all else, I wish mothers everywhere to have joyful and healthy children. A mother can only be as happy as her unhappiest child.
