5 Quotes & 1 Video: Katharine Hepburn.

My mother loved her, and looked up to her.

My mother was (and is) a tomboy. Katharine wore the pants. She talked loudly, she spoke eloquently, the love affair of her life was an unconventional one that didn’t fit in a box. She was sad, and wild.

She aimed to please herself.

If Kate was the original hipster feminist she was also a woman of her times. In nearly three decades with Spencer Tracey she tolerated his well-documented alcoholism and public verbal & physical abuse. She said, "love isn't about what you expect to get but what you're willing to give." In her own case, she said, that was everything.

Sorry to hear that. Didn't know about the verbal and physical violence. You have sources? I'll look, more.

In any case, nothing about being an incredible lady or gentleman means we're perfect.

  5. Love her. She grew up not far from me. It's true (according to her bio) that her relationship with Spencer Tracy was tumultuous as he had a drinking problem. Don't know about any abuse allegations though.
