Obama that I used to Know.

Or, why Extreme Liberals suck.

Liberals seem to think Obama, or Carter, or Clinton, or Gore, or Kerry…need to be perfect.

Liberals are children. We’d prefer to lose than vote, as we put it, for the lesser of two evils.

How’d that work out in 2000? Gore went on to create an Inconvenient Truth, and Bush created two wars, turned an historic surplus into economic collapse, and appointed justices who created Citizens United and therefore Superpacs.

No one’s perfect. Grow up. Even if he/she you love gets elected, you’ll find they aren’t perfect. Why? Because we elect a

not a

King or Queen.

Presidents aren’t all-powerful. Obama tried to close Gitmo. He’s worked hard, as the Onion famously pointed out, to dig us out of our economic hole—but in facing the winds of the Tea Party, there’s only so much he can do. He never claimed to be an extreme liberal, anyways: he’s a centrist, about bringing the parties together, no matter how the extreme conservatives try to paint him (as a foreign-born Muslim Socialist).

So, I take exception to this video, even while I’m passionate about its fundamental desire: Peace on Earth.

Bonus: the original.

  1. Waywrong Lewis just doesn't get it. Liberals, especially extreme liberals, lack the intelligence and creative insight necessary to produce a political parody with OVER A MILLION VIEWS. Case in point, nothing from this partisan extremist liberal blog even comes close to the popularity of this video.

Waywrong just wants you play ball. Don't ask questions. Don't think for yourself. And NEVER DISSENT!! Just be a good yogi, go to class, and vote Obama.

The worse kind of voters are those of vote purely to prevent the other side from gaining power. Your not voting for Obama, your voting against Romney, and the fear of another Bush. This kind of vote has no value. If you want to make a difference, vote for principle. That is the message of the Obama Goyte parody. You must demand the Obama that we used to know. The one that campaigned on restoring civil liberties and on ending war. The reason Obama has a kill list, signed the NDAA authorizing indefinite detention of American citizens, is because liberals compromised, NOT OBAMA. Liberals fell silent. Liberals are afraid to dissent. Because all liberals do is vote, and don't become politically active in their communities.

When you say "liberals rather lose than vote for the lesser of two evils," you are admitting Obama is evil, which he is. It's a myth that Obama tried to close Gitmo. It's a myth that Obama stopped torture. It's a myth that Obama ended the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama tried to save the economy by bailing out the banks. Just more keynsianism, when all we need is freedom.

Your right, Obama is president, not king. A king rules, a president represents. Do Obama's compromises represent you? If not, then you better think long on what your votes worth. If you value your vote, then you must never vote and play ball, you must vote and BE HEARD. DISSENT is the act of a true patriot.

    For liberty!

Oh yes, I am voting for Obama because of everything he stands for and I stand for- intelligent engagement and non-extreme. Not because I am a GOP hater. In fact, I have many hard core republican friends who go to church and do an incredible amount of charity works. I would not be pissed if Romney gets elected. I will continue to stand for being human, liberal and loving my neighbors, friends and family even if we have different opinions.

I enjoyed the video. I think it's good to remind Obama that we have expectations that weren't met, though I disagree on some specific points. One, I'd rather use drones than humans if there are individuals or groups who are intent on killing Americans. I don't think the Taliban are our enemy and I would have liked to have seen us pull out of Afghanistan sooner but I also understand the notion of leaving the country with some kind of stability in place. Frankly, I think we should mind our own business more and that business of others less and the entire middle east is a mess. Obama was blocked in relocating the terrorists at Guantanamo. Why can't our leaders get together and solve these problems? That's my question. Obama did bail out the banks. I don't think he abandoned us in doing so. I think if he hadn't things would have been much worse for us….the working stiffs.

  4. Jim says:

I think the yoga for liberty rant is a bit over the top but I agree that dissent is the act of a true patriot.

Frankly, I don't understand why people paint Obama so harshly. Really, I don't. The one thing I am disappointed about his term is that while caught up in the milleau of governing he didn't continue to speak to us…to inspire us.

We lose everything if Romney wins. Everything.

Obama has done us in supporting GMO's, appointing over and over people from that cult.
